When applying for a divorce there are often other documents you may need to file with your application. These may include the following (you can find a full list with further details on the Federal Circuit Courts website:
- Affidavit – to support information in your application
- Affidavit for eFiling (Divorce) – In order to avoid having to re-file make sure the affidavit is signed before an accepted witness.
- Marriage Certificate: Depending on your circumstances, you may need to eFile information about your marriage certificate
- Married under 2 years counselling certificate – If you have been married for less than 2 years you are required to file a counselling certificate.
- Proof of Citizenship – You may need to prove your eligibility to apply for a divorce if not born in Australia.
- Request to attend by telephone – If you are unable to attend in person, you may wish to apply to attend by phone.
- Service Documents (sole Application for Divorce only) – You will need to provide proof that the documents have been served on the other party
